Hello all! So next Thursday will see the wonderful L&F in Tunnels 2 for an evening of beard scratching, drum thumping, horn blowing, banjo twanging and damn good singing and shouting as Woodenbox With a Fistful of Fivers hit the L&F stage. With support now confirmed from the marvellously talented Kathryn Sawers and for the evening, pairing up, the beautiful Fiona Keenan and Sarah J!
Hope to see your wonderful faces there! Time for omlette and spicy wedges. Mmm…
L&F love to you all,
Incase you didn’t know, Woodenbox With a Fistful of Fivers will be gracing the L&F stage in Tunnels 2 on Thursday 4th Feb.
This will be as part of their album launch tour around the UK, “Home and the Wildhunt” which is set to be released by Electric Honey, the label that brought you the likes of Belle & Sebastian, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol to name but only a few.
The lead single from the album, ‘Draw a Line’ has already garnered nationwide radio support from such luminaries as Gideon Coe, Vic Galloway, Steve Lamacq, Marc Riley and Radcliffe & Maconie. This band are one to watch this year for sure.
“One of best bands in Glasgow, they are also one of the few that know how to put on a show. Not one to forget.” – bluesbunny.com
Woodenbox With a Fistful of Fivers, whose superb Draw a Line (****, 4 Jan) is the pick of this month’s batch. An irresistible horn section, in the ilk of Calexico, perfect harmonies and gruff vocals of Ali Downer are more akin to the dustbowls of Arizona than the damp streets of Glasgow. An inspired track. – The Skinny
You’d be a fool to miss these trucker capped beardy folksters!
